A Geometry-Dependent Void Closure Model Considering Void Deformation and Orientation Changes during Hot Metal Formation

چکیده

In this paper, a void closure model applicable to the general hot forming process has been proposed. Through representative volume element (RVE) method, influences of shape, orientation, and stress state on tendency were analysed. The was established so that it could consider these cross effects. calculates changing radius orientation during deformation by considering rate change parameters affecting with respect effective strain. predicted well RVE scale adequately in multi-stage random voids. results compared stress-triaxiality-based (STB) model, which showed proposed study is situations. A cogging analysed, degree at end each pass calculated model. For experimental verification spherical ellipsoid voids placed rectangular specimen, radii after compression measured. measurement calculation

A Model of Void Formation

We introduce a simple model for the formation of voids. In this model the underdensity of galaxies in voids is the product of two factors. The first arises from a gravitational expansion of the negative density perturbation. The second is due to biasing: galaxies are less likely to form in an underdense region. One feature of the model is an upper cutoff in void sizes. We calculate the volume f...

Void formation during film growth: A molecular dynamics simulation study

Two-dimensional, nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations have been applied to study the structure of thin films grown on single-crystal Lennard-Jones substrates. The principal microstructural features to develop within these films are single vacancies and small voids which tend to be slightly elongated and to be aligned in the growth direction. Both the void volume and the mean surface ro...

Fracture void structure: implications for flow, transport and deformation

This review focuses on studies of flow, transport and deformation processes at a scale of a single discontinuity. The paper provides an evaluation of: (1) various methods suggested for geometrical characterization of void structure; and (2) theoretical and practical problems arising from significant differences between the actual geometry of fracture void structure and its parallel plate repres...

Void deformation and breakup in shearing silica glass.

We study shear deformation and breakup of voids in silica glass using molecular dynamics simulations. With an increase in the shear strain, two kinds of defects--threefold-coordinated silicon and nonbridging oxygen atoms--appear as spherical voids deform elastically into ellipsoidal shapes. For shear strains epsilon>15%, nanocracks appear on void surfaces and voids deform plastically into a thr...

Formation of the Supercluster-Void Network

A review of the study of superclusters based on the 2dFGRS and SDSS is given. Real superclusters are compared with models using simulated galaxies of the Millennium Run. We show that the fraction of very luminous superclusters in real samples is about five times greater than in simulated samples. Superclusters are generated by large-scale density perturbations which evolve very slowly. The abse...
